A Systems Biology Approach to Elucidate the Process of Blastocyst Implantation

چکیده
A linear application of simplistic, largely deterministic and logically reliable model of operations has, in past, held the notion that three primary modules are integral to the physiological process of blastocyst implantation in the human: endometrial competence, adequate progesterone priming, and viable endometrium – embryo dialogue (1, 2). However, blastocyst implantation is not a highly programmed process; it is rather a complex physiological process. Like any complex biological process, blastocyst implantation is dependent on nonlinear interaction of multiple modules and motifs with specific time and space contexts. These operational characteristics collectively attribute to the emerging property of a robust order in the system (3). Our knowledge about the process underlying the control system of blastocyst implantation is very thin (4). We now propose that a large scale time course study of transcript profiles in adequately hormone primed competent endometrium in the presence of ageand stage-matched synchronous and viable embryo may divulge the nature of interaction networks of transcriptomes and their factorial regulation. We believe that deduction of such a large scale expressional networks dynamics shall provide a better picture of the process and possibly open up novel areas of basic, strategic and translational research in blastocyst implantation. We also provide the proof of principle by using deductively selected gene products based transcript profiles in receptive endometrium of the rhesus monkey.

I-34: Interactorme of Human Embryo Implan Implantation:Pathways,Networks
Background: A prerequisite for successful embryo implantation is adequate preparation of receptive endometrium and the establishment and maintenance of a viable embryo. The success of implantation further relies upon a two-way dialogue between the embryo and uterus. However, molecular bases of these preimplantation and implantation processes in humans are not well known. Materials and Methods: ...
متن کاملUltrastructural Modifications of Human Endometrium during the Window of Implantation
The endometrium is a highly dynamic tissue empowered with the capacity to undergo cyclic dramatic changes in response to ovarian steroid hormones, ultimately aiming to create a window of receptivity for blastocyst implantation. Intensive research has been performed to understand and establish morphological and molecular correlates of embryo implantation. However, it still remains a biological m...

Many investigators are interested in finding the new cultural systems that can support the in vitro development of pre-implantation embryos better. Previous studies suggested that growth factors such as epidermal growth factor (EGF) are important in pre-implantation embryo development and implantation process. On the other hand, it is very important to support post thaw development of frozen em...

The present study was done to uncover the possible beneficial and/or detrimental effect(s) of nano-micelle curcumin (NMC) on oocyte in-vitro maturation and pre-implantation embryo development. Forty-eight mature female Wistar rats were assigned to control, 7.5, 15, and 30 mg/kg-1 NMC-receiving (orally, for 48 days) groups. To assess the cumulus-oocyte complexes (COCs), the ovaries were stimulat...
